Forgotten Mentally Ill, Homeless Man Left In Jail

From FOXNews.com, in Crownpoint, Indiana:

“Officials cannot explain how they allowed a homeless, mentally ill man accused of stealing a soda to languish in jail for 17 months.

Edward Perez’s attorney, his court-appointed psychiatrist, the judge in his case and jail officials all apparently believed he had been released a year ago.”

I guess that if anyone had cared, someone would have noticed. Sickening.

God bless that man. I cannot imagine.

My first thought was that well at least he had food and shelter. Then I remembered the stories of the horrid things prisoners do to each other and I became sick. There just plain HAS to be a Heaven because these poor dear people have known Hell already! And you know, I hate myself because no matter what I have done to help I have not done enough. My soft, happy middle class life when so many needed just a little more than kindness and consideration than they got. I am ashamed. Brenda

None of us can do everything, but all of us can do something, and if we all actually did, I believe that it would be more than enough. I appreciate your heart, Brenda. :)
