Officers Down, Again

Officer DownIt’s happened again (in Charlotte), so soon after the last time (in Winston.) It’s horrific. Unthinkable. And real.

With the hot mess our own police department has had to deal with lately, the public can get distracted from the reality of the daily risk that officers face as they “protect and serve” us. And the high price that some of them pay in doing so.

God bless our law enforcement officers. All of them. Everywhere. Please join me in praying for the families of Officers Clark and Shelton.

And for those of you who love to run your mouths about GPD, why don’t you try saying “thank you” sometime, instead. It would be a nice change, and much appreciated, I’m sure. (You know who you are.)

Just as I am a military wife I come from a family who are proud of those of us who have gone into law enforcement. One cousin came up thru the ranks to become Police Chief of a large than Greensboro northern city. These people not only put their lives on the line EVERY day, they deal with the most heart breaking situations for which they can do nothing and they deal with the scum, much scum. That is why they hate bad cops. Most police officers do detest bad cops. I feel a bad cop no matter where he is takes away from the self sacrifice my cousins have given their life too. Crooked cops, bad cops should be rooted out of the system. GPD will get the respect they deserve when they clean house. BAd cops are not protecting the public as they should be either so we all should be concerned.

  2. Thanks for your thoughts, Brenda. And I agree that GPD doesn’t need bad cops. Their motto is “Integrity. Honor. Courage.” Live it or leave it. (Voluntarily or with help. Preferably, the first one.)
