Emergency Shelters Reopen For Cold Weather

With forecast temps below freezing tonight and tomorrow night, cold weather emergency shelter beds will reopen at two one local night shelters for homeless adults, at least through the weekend. If you are homeless and without shelter this weekend, or you know someone who is, emergency shelter will be open for adults aged 18 and over at Salvation Army (1311 S. Eugene St., 273-5572) and Greensboro Urban Ministry (305 W. Lee St., 271-5959, ext. 347.) Please call for more information.

Update: I just got a second call from a contact at Salvation Army. They are not reopening their winter shelter, but instead are referring unsheltered homeless people to Greensboro Urban Ministry’s emergency cold weather shelter this weekend. So I’ve updated the info above. Sorry for any confusion.
