Violence Against the Homeless In Greensboro and Beyond

This is a video clip of one of my homeless friends, who was attacked by teenagers on the street in Greensboro last summer. In the clip above, he talks about the attack. Please watch the clip to find out what happened to him just days after this video was made.

Unprovoked attacks on homeless people are on the rise across the nation. The National Coalition for the Homeless reported 142 attacks against homeless people in 2006, including 20 deaths — a 65% increase from the year before. Nationwide, most of the attacks are committed by teens and young adults.
