Ten Year Plan To End Chronic Homelessness Presented

This afternoon, the Guilford County Task Force to End Chronic Homelessness held a public presentation of the Ten Year Plan: “Partnering to End Homelessness in Guilford County, High Point and Greensboro.”
The presentation was held at GTCC-Jamestown, with featured speaker Philip Mangano, Executive Director of the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness. Elected officials in attendance included Greensboro Mayor Keith Holliday, Guilford County Commissioners Paul Gibson and Bruce Davis and Congressman Howard Coble (R-NC.)
The 23-page plan includes background information on a new approach to ending chronic homelessness, known as “housing first.” The plan lays out objectives, with corresponding strategies and action steps, in the areas of housing and prevention and supportive services for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness in our community. There are case studies, a proposed budget, and information about implementation. (I hope that the plan will be available online soon.)

Thanks, Roch. I added it above, as well. I don’t know if I just missed it last night, or if it wasn’t up yet. Knowing Sue, it was already there. (She did the site.) I do wish there was a front page with news on the Task Force site. It makes things easier to find for those of us who get distracted quickly when we’re sleepy. (Hand raised.)
