If You Have A Non-Profit, Then You Need A Blog
I visit a lot of non-profit web sites. Homelessness, mental illness, HIV/AIDS, living wage, affordable housing — the list goes on. I bookmark many of them, but I just don’t have time to go back through my bookmarks and check the sites regularly for news and information. (Most people don’t.) However, some — OK, a very few — of the sites have RSS feeds. So I’ve added them to my feed reader and it’s easy to keep track of their news and events.
If you have a non-profit, then you need a blog — or at least an RSS feed for news and events. Good blog software is free, widely available, and easy to install, maintain and use. And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist or an expensive web developer to do it. So, what are you waiting for?

Not only are you correct but my company has figured out multiple ways to put money in the bank accounts of non-profits who use blogs.
