Serves: Families in need of assistance with furniture. Families (with an agency referral) may shop for free furniture on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:00 a.m. and noon. Families must arrange their own transportation. In 2006, Barnabas served approximately 500 families between March and December.
Donate: Barnabas accepts donations of furniture and other items (”anything that helps to make a house a home,” such as linens, dishes, appliances, mattresses, box springs, artwork, lamps, etc.) from community members and businesses. Barnabas will pick up donated items and furniture. Call to arrange a pick-up time for furniture donation: 336.370.4002.
Staff: Barnabas operates on a small budget, with two part-time staff members and 8-10 volunteers from the community. Barnabas works with federal parole and probation authorities to provide community service options.
Funding: Barnabas Furniture Ministry is faith-based and all funding comes from local churches. Barnabas currently has 14 partnering churches. Tax-deductible financial contributions may be made to Barnabas Furniture Ministry, c/o Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 607 N. Greene St., Greensboro, NC, 27401.

Latika: I somehow missed seeing your comment. I apologize. To get a referral, talk to a caseworker at DSS, GHA, etc. Or someone in financial assistance at Greensboro Urban Ministry, Salvation Army or any other place that does financial assistance. Or call Barnabas and ask how else you can get one.

Hi, I have what was once a very nice sleeper sofa with pet soiled cushions, otherwise in great condition. The seat cushions need to be replaced and it needs to be cleaned, but even without the seat cushions would be a nice bed for someone. Who would be best to contact for pick up of this type item?

hey im trying to get some help for my home im on my own and will be attending school in the fall. i dont know where to get a agent referral for barnabas where can i go get it.

Amanda, contact Barnabas Furniture Ministry at 370-4001, or the Salvation Army Family Store in Greensboro at 274-0259, or Home to Home Furniture Ministries in High Point at 688-8868. I believe that they all do pickups. Barnabas and Home to Home donate furniture directly to those in need. Salvation Army donates some and sells some through the family store, with the funds going back to ministries to the poor and homeless.

I have a king size waterbed and all the bed lines that I would like to donate along with 2 brass end tables. Would someone be able to come and pick them up at our house?
