Cara Michele’s PAC & Machine

Vote!Although Election 2007 is coming up in a just a few days, I’ve decided that it’s never too late to form my own political action committee. So I’m creating the CM-PAC. I’m going to distribute hugs and prayers to those candidates whom I’ve known personally to be involved with caring for “the least of these” in Greensboro. I hope that the promise of an endorsement from my PAC will help spur all candidates to serve and act on behalf of the poor and homeless in Greensboro, and that eventually CM-PAC will become so popular that it will evolve into a political machine. (Here’s a picture of what I hope the CM-PAC machine will look like.)

In this year’s election, the CM-PAC is supporting Yvonne Johnson for Mayor, Mary Rakestraw in the at-large race, Goldie Wells in District 2, and Sandy Carmany in District 5, with a dual can’t-lose endorsement of both Dianne Bellamy-Small and Tonya Clinkscale in District 1. I have personal knowledge of each of these ladies’ commitment to programs, projects or events in Greensboro that provide one or more of the following: homeless services, affordable housing, substance abuse treatment, veterans’ services, services for at-risk youth.

Ladies, you already have my support and my prayers. So, come and get your hugs. :)

P.S. I’ve heard that District 3 candidate Joe Wilson also has a history of helping out homeless folks in Greensboro, and I was impressed that write-in mayoral candidate (and fellow blogger) Billy Jones specifically included homelessness in his campaign platform. Kudos, boys. You both get a wink and a nod. ;)
