Calling All Local Politicians…

The Winter Series is a collaboration between the Greensboro Public Library and Food Not Bombs. A free meal and program are offered every Monday night at 6:00 p.m. in the Nussbaum Room of the Central Library. Many of the people who come to eat and participate in the program are homeless or are on Greensboro’s economic edge, a situation that gives them a unique and valuable perspective on some of Greensboro’s most pressing social programs.
The Winter Series is designed to be a comfortable and welcoming place for Greensboro citizens to meet and get to know each other across economic lines. January 14, February 18, and March 17 have been designated “Government Official Days.”
Most of the above text was written by Liz Seymour (who also wrote a post called “Permission,” about the Winter Series) and was included in an email invitation to City Council members and County Commissioners. I hope they’ll all come. If you know any of our local (or state or federal) government officials, please encourage them to participate! ![]()
