Prayer Request

I received a request to pray specifically for missionaries in another country who are baptizing new believers today. Believers in that country are persecuted (beaten, sometimes killed) for their faith and the missionaries requested that followers of Christ pray for them today.

I think of Jesus’ prayer in John 17:

“I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.”

I pray that God will preserve their lives until He has accomplished every purpose for which He created each of them, and I pray that He will comfort and strengthen them, and protect them from the evil one — the enemy of our souls.

And I think of Stephen, as he was being martyred (Acts 7):

“But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said, ‘Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!’”

I pray that the missionaries and the new believers see the glory of the LORD today, and I pray for that same spirit of faith without fear!

I am thankful to God that I live in a country where we are free to share the good news and the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and where we are free to worship and to practice our faith. And I thank God for my brothers and sisters who obey God’s call to go to the “ends of the earth” to tell everyone about His great love for Him. I am overwhelmed by my Father God. He is good, all the time.

Please pray with me now, in the name of Him “who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.” (Eph 3:20)

Peace,
CM
