This is my town

This Michael Stanley song from the 80’s describes how I feel about Greensboro:

This town is my town, alright
Love her, hate her, it don’t matter
‘Cause I’m gonna stand and fight
This town is my town
She’s got her ups and downs
But love her, hate her, it don’t matter
‘Cause this is my town

Oh Ben, my friend, haven’t you learned by now that you and I fight our battles very differently?

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.”

As Pastor Will at my church says, “Be careful that you know who your real enemy is, or else you may wound someone who is on your side.”

    Amen.

Let’s stick together. Before we fall apart.

Cara Michele Honey, we will never fall apart all the way since you are too precious to us. But I too fight more like Ben and often disagree with your ideas. You see I do keep God in mind, but I know He does not interfere in the affairs of men because His son told me as
much. If there is to be justice in this world then we of this world will have to demand it. That is what I and Ben are doing: we are fighting for justice for David Wray and his command staff who were unjustly accused and as a result lost their livelihoods and their dreams.

Lies kill. Lies kill the soul of the person lied about. There is no way to fight a lie because once it is said no matter what else is done there will always be the stench of the lie trailing the victim thru life. There will also always be that hurt deep inside of the victim that won’t go away no matter how well or successfully he goes on with his life. The hole you see is his trust in others that will never come back. BB

Brenda, there are people who love David Wray, people who can’t stand him, people who don’t have a strong opinion about him, and people who don’t know him. Same with Mitchell Johnson. Same with my friend Ben Holder. Same with me. Same with probably everyone on the planet.

What matters is being known and loved by God, and knowing and loving Him. God is the only one we have to please. And vengeance belongs to Him alone. Remember Romans 12:19-21:

Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
