Video: Homeless resident addresses Greensboro City Council

At the Feb. 18, 2008 “Government Official Day” of the Winter Series, Dianne Bellamy-Small urged the gathered homeless Greensboro residents to come to City Council meetings and share their concerns. The very next evening, one gentleman did just that. Hopefully, he’s the first of many.
“… we asked [shelter staff], “Where will we stay?,” and they told us to go sleep under a bridge…”

I am so greatful that there is no longer “a bridge” for anthiny and his wife. I am so sorry that the local resource agencies either don’t have or care to update thier information with each other. I am sure that if they did so “a bridge” would not be an option. There are more homeless in this area than there are beds and that needs to change. As times get harder and resources shrink what are we to do.
