My friend Liz lives in a collective house, which I find quite intriguing. I’m also drawn to the idea of Catholic Worker Hospitality Houses for the homeless. I’ve thought a lot about how to integrate serving the poor and homeless with collective living, intentional community and communal farming — from the perspective of a follower of Christ. And then I read Zack Exley’s post about Christian communes. Very interesting. I want to learn more. So if you have suggested reading, please share.

Our outreach team:

There are probably more than 100 known intentional communities in NC and Virginia combined and several offer tours. Several years ago I toured several.
Christian ones? I’m specifically interested in communities that are following Christ, living collectively and serving the poor. Which I assume will narrow it down a bit.
I too am interested in the same vision. i am very mobile , i am done with tradition ways to make money and live. i am a follower of Christ. i am no longer a slave to man and his ways. well i am in the process of breaking that way of living. I believe truly that the rapture will be any minute but still to carry on till it happens.
