Saturday night at the park: Scrabble, Perrier & homelessness

I spent Saturday night drinking Perrier and playing Scrabble by the fountains at Center City Park with LV. Despite my degrees in English and Communication, he still beats me every time we play. Apparently, the U.S. military trained him well for epic territorial domination and strategic mind-gaming. 
We saw two homeless men. One who always asks the same question of everyone he sees, including us: “Can you help out a homeless man?” But I’ve learned that “help” is not exactly what he’s looking for — at least not yet. I’m praying for his time to come. The other man was excited to tell us that he’s just gotten a full-time job, and he’s looking forward to being in his own place soon. Amazing grace.
