Vote Out Poverty
In a comment responding to this post, Rev. Mike Aiken of Greensboro Urban Ministry points us to The Vote Out Poverty Campaign:
Our goal is to mobilize a faith-based constituency of churches and individuals capable of putting poverty at the top of the political agenda. We want a national plan from the president and Congress to:
1. Cut domestic poverty in half over the next decade, and
2. Achieve the Millennium Development Goals, a set of international goals for reducing global poverty.
Is it Republican or Democrat?
“Neither. Fighting poverty is a nonpartisan issue and a bipartisan cause. The Vote Out Poverty campaign does not endorse candidates, but we are asking them to endorse our agenda.”
Policy Platform: “A Covenant for A New America”
