CARA MICHELE FORREST
I’m a Jesus follower, proud momma of three and advocate for the homeless.
I do street outreach to the homeless with the StreetWatch team. We help homeless and hungry people get what they need. (Why do I do it? Read this…)
I blog here at ChosenFast.com about homelessness and related topics, like substance abuse and mental illness.
When invited, I speak to groups about homelessness, street outreach, and the other issues that I blog about.
I partner with people and organizations that serve people in need in Greensboro.
I want to be like Jesus. I’m nowhere near it. But that’s the target.
My philosophy:
It is what it is until it’s something else. And if nothing changes, then nothing changes. But it’s never too late to start doing the next right thing.
Some favorite Scriptures:
“Is this not the fast which I choose… to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into the house…” Isaiah 58:6-7
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross…” Hebrews 12:1-2
Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’” Matthew 25:37-40
